colored gel portraits
identity photos/ outside of school portraits
The photo that I loved the most was the first one. Compositionally I chose to convert the image to black and white to highlight and shadow the features in her face, and so the texture of the brick didn't interfere with her. Also black and white seemed like an appropriate color choice for her expression. I also wanted to frame the picture where only half of her face was the subject. in this photo i wasn't intentionally communicating anything but it could be symbolize the sadness of growing up. sure when your a child your dream is to be a grown up and do grown up things, but once you start to grow up its not all fun and games. her facial expression was the only prop i used and the background in which the photos were taken. to the audience i want to convey that everyone has a little childish side to them , do not forget your roots.
